WELLINGTON FLORIDA EQUINE PHOTOGRAPHER| RAJA THE QUARTER HORSE

Pancho La Estrella, Raja is a 24 year old American Quarter Horse out of Body-Slammer.

Although he is 24 he is still going strong! Raja is mostly retired, but he has had to quit his career of jumping, cow chasing, polo, endurance, and dressage. He was Amy’s first horse and the one that started it all! His last discipline was dressage, but now he does some trail riding.

Amy, his owner explains how she first found Raja, “I have had him since 2008. I found him when I was looking for my first horse from a girl in San Antonio that needed to sell him. For a first horse he was the right age, a ‘been there done that kind’ of guy! As a young girl, I would visit my uncle in Wisconsin in the summer and they had horses. I would come home and want a horse. My mom said no. I always told myself I would do that one day. After I graduated with my Masters a good friend gave me riding lessons and the rest is history 11 horses later!”

One word that describes him best would be “Royal.” And his favorite treats are apples!

Amy shares, “My favorite product for Raja is coconut oil for his tail fingered combed in once a week. Keeps it looking good!”

Amy’s favorite memory is when Raja first came to the barn where she was boarding him. All the little girls were like, “he is just a quarter horse!” One day soon he got loose with us tail up, nostrils flared and running around like he owned the place, he even jumped the jumps on his own. The girls were impressed with him after that!
