Compi, Compiobbi, is a beautiful Oldenburg gelding. Liza Ziel rides at DFG Stables and trains with Daniel and Cathy Geitner.
Compi values his personal space—he’s most content relaxing in his stall and can be a bit grumpy if you wake him up early. But beneath that sleepy demeanor is a sweet soul with a huge heart who always gives his best. From the very first day, he and Liza shared a close connection, and he always shows up ready to work.
One of Liza’s favorite memories with Compi was winning a class at WEC after a tough week. The victory was especially sweet—not only for the comeback but also because she beat both of her trainers in the class!
Liza has been leasing Compi for a year. She first met him in Aiken at a horse show after coming off of a pre-children’s horse, and the match was instant.
Their favorite treat? Nature Valley granola bars!
Horses have always been a part of Liza’s life. Her mom rode when she was younger, and Liza grew up around horses from the very beginning. What she loves most is building a strong bond and deep connection with each horse she rides.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica.
