Meet Tobi Lou, also known as “Tobi”, a 5-year-old Deutsches Sportpferd bay gelding. This young guy is owned, adored, and ridden by Ava Atchison who trains with Britt McCormick at Elmstead Farms in Parker, TX.

The Atchinson family bought Tobi from Ava’s trainers, Britt McCormick & Natalie Stoyko. Ava shares her favorite memory with Tobi would be placing Champion at their first show together which was only his second show.

“I love showing him, going through the course makes me so happy! He is so brilliant and extraordinarily fun to be around. Walking into the arena just knowing he knows what to do and what his job is at such a young age is amazing!” Ava also shares that sometimes she even forgets his young age because he never acts it, he acts like a pro. Horses like this are so incredible and eager to please. They love having a job to do and a person to do it with. Tobi is known to be incredibly sweet and loves cuddles.

Tobi’s favorite treats are stud muffins, carrots, bananas, and homemade treats with icing! Needless to say, all the good stuff!

Ava became interested in riding at age 8. She went to see a friend of hers ride one day and fell in love with the sport. The rest as you know is history. Ava shares that her favorite thing about owning horses is “knowing they will always be yours and the owner name is your name when your showing; best feeling!”
