SMOKIN OLENA GUN | 6 YEAR OLD QUARTER HORSE | TIOGA,TX

Gunny, Smokin Olena Gun, is a 6 year old Sorrell Quarter Horse with white markings on legs, a blaze and a white belly. He is a Gunner out of a Smart Chic Olena mare (Colonels Smoking Gun x Jameen Olena) who was bred by Michael W. Moore from Argyle, TX. Gunny’s owner, Tina, boards him in Tioga, TX where he is trained by Bud Lyon from Bud Lyon Performance Horses.

Tina explains, “He is so good-minded it amazes me. He has so much try. Gunny has a giant heart and works so hard to do whatever I ask of him. He is one of the sweetest horses I have ever been around and is so gentle with everyone. I show him in Reining. We are going to the Youth World this summer! My favorite thing about this horse is the way he stops. He completely commits to the stop and it gives me so much confidence when I go show, as I know he will not let me down. I bought him in September 2016 and I have owned him for almost a year. The first time I met him was in Las Vegas to try him. After vetting him, we made the purchase and I hung out in his stall with him for a long time and we became best buds!”

Tina’s dad got her into horses when she was young, so she grew up with them. Her favorite thing about owning horses is the relationship you create. She explains how there is nothing like having an animal that you are so connected to and have so much love for, but they can’t even understand what you are saying. Tina says that being with them makes her a better person, especially Gunny. These two have come a long way together. Tina says, “He has taught me so much about riding and showing horses. This horse not only got me qualified for the AQHA Youth World in one horse show, but he also helped me earn my highest score ever in the show pen this year (72.5). He has such a big heart and never lest me down. Gunny is truly my once in a lifetime horse and I am so grateful for the opportunity to have one like him.”
