Covenant is owed by Maggi and lives at Pwf Equine in Salado, TX. Covenant is a 19 year old off the track Thoroughbred was a jumper in his prime. This brown eyed boy is currently enjoying his retirement alongside his lady friends in the pasture and could not be happier. He is described by Maggi in the most loving way, she says, “He is my heart horse.”

I can tell you, Maggi truly LOVES this horse more than anything in the world and it was incredibly evident during the session just how special Covenant is. I can’t blame Maggi for loving him so fiercely, this boy has a huge personality which was evident from the minute I met him, and although he is retired you would never know that he is an “old man”. He acts more like a race horse that is ready to run when standing in the cross ties, but does it in a true distinguished way, just enough to remind you that he really is still a young spry horse at heart.

Though now retired and settling down in greener pastures with his girlfriend, Covenant was previously a horse who loved to show. Back in the day their show start was a bit rough; broken reins in their second round ever ridden and colic surgery two months later. He proved to be a tough little boy though, because Covenant recovered, and was champion in the high adults in their first show back. His passion for the show ring filled her heart with happiness.

“Covenant is happiness for my soul. He taught me volumes and gave me more confidence than I realized. If he could be dipped in gold, I would, but he’d be happier dipped in mud. Now, he loves being a bit rank, has a couple of lady friends, and enjoys selfie Thursdays when I bribe him for love, in exchange for treats.”
