Meet Phil, a 7-month-old English Cocker Spaniel owned and adored by Sophie Rueben. Phil has a gorgeous liver, tan, and white ticked coat. Do you remember the English Cocker Spaniel named Lizzy? This is his half-sister! The pair have the same father, Gucci, from Comfort, TX.

Sophie had always loved Lizzy who is her boss, Nada’s dog. She shares with us her favorite memory with Phil, and like many, it was the day she got him! “I had been talking to the breeder for probably a year leading up to me getting Phil. I desperately wanted a puppy out of the same bloodlines as Nada’s dog, Lizzy, so when Gucci (Phil & Lizzy’s dad) was breeding I was first on the list for a puppy. They were born in early September and Nada was supposed to go pick up Phil with me. I had already picked my puppy out and all of the other pups in the litter were spoken for. Nada ended up having to go on a trip that weekend so I convinced Kurt, Nada’s husband to go with me instead. We drove to Boerne where we met the breeder. I was the first to pick up my pup, so the whole litter was still there. They were all absolutely precious and incredibly irresistible…but spoken for. After playing with all of them for a while, I grabbed Phil and headed to get all the paperwork to head home. While we were in there I kept asking the breeder’s wife if there was any way we could have one more. Begging!! And explaining that we would give it the best life! Telling them how we do all these fun things with our dogs! Well, after about 20 minutes of me begging to take more than one puppy, she called her husband and told him we get to have two puppies! Next thing I know Kurt and I are driving home with Phil and Ellie Mae! We FaceTimed Nada on the way home to tell her about the exciting news!” 

Phil lives a happy and exciting life with his mom, and sister Ellie Mae, who belongs to Nada and gets to see often. Phil is described by Sophie as “completely wild” but a huge blessing and she wouldn’t change it for the world!
