Mr. October, affectionately known as Ranger, is a striking 5-year-old KWPN gelding owned and ridden by Heather Healy, who trains with Happy Comly.
Ranger’s story began with a name — one chosen by Heather’s husband after they won the World Series.
Heather’s favorite memory with Ranger isn’t just about the wins; it’s about the journey. From the moment they imported him as a young horse to seeing how far he’s come, it’s been a ride filled with patience, growth, and plenty of joy along the way. Watching him mature into the beautiful, confident partner he is today has been incredibly rewarding.
Ranger is dressage-bred, by George Clooney out of Rastenberg, but he’s proven he’s got both the looks and the talent for anything he sets his mind to.
Heather has been riding since she was just five and a half years old. Horses have always been a constant in her life — a source of peace, purpose, and passion. With Ranger, she’s found a partner who embodies all of that and more.
Karinda K. is a Houston, TX based equine photographer that travels around the United States photographing equestrians and their horses. Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. With the help of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show family, Karinda has raised over $30,000 for Candlelighter’s Houston since starting this project.
