Meet Le Reve Noir VP, “Dream”, a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding who is bay with two small socks on his hind legs and snip on his nose. Dream was bred by W.P. Van Kessel, his sire is Painted Black and his dam is Oniden. Dream is owned and ridden by Halynne Jolly who trains at Twisted Oak Farm in Bulverde, TX with Johnny and Claudia Conn.

Halynne’s favorite memory she shares with Dream was when she had just brought him home for trial and was really riding him for the first time. She had ridden him a few times before, and really liked him, but now she was at home, in her element able to take a lesson and really get comfortable on him – see if they clicked. “I was halfway through my lesson when Johnny came out and sat with my mom, which he doesn’t always do. I knew what he was saying was important because I personally had never seen him talk so much with my mom. He had stopped me as I was walking out of the arena to cool Dream down, and told me “This is a great horse.” Which made me even more confident that we made the right choice with him.”, says Halynne.

The pair have been together for almost a year now. Halynne shares that they sort of met by accident. At the time, she had gone to try a different horse, Claudia, her trainer, asked her to get on Dream so she could take photos and videos for another client. “After that, my mom told me that she could tell he was the horse.”, said Halynne.

Dream is a goofy boy with a fun-loving personality. He loves to fill his water bucket all the way up with hay, he also likes to know where Halynne is at all times! If she goes into the tack room, he is right behind her turning so far he’s almost in there with her just so he doesn’t lose sight. Sometimes he’s shy and unsure of people at first, but when he knows there are treats involved he warms up rather quickly.

Dream’s treat of choice is skittles, but not the yellow…he does not like yellow skittles!

“I grew up in Minnesota so I started trail riding when I was younger during the months it wasn’t below zero. Then I did summer camps which really allowed me to grow my love for horses. After we moved to Texas, I started taking lessons and leased a horse in 2018 for two years, following the purchase of my first horse, and now Dream! My favorite thing about owning a horse is just being able to have that escape from the real world for even a few hours.”, shares Halynne.
