Chloe’s Portrait Session at Madrone Ranch located outside of Austin,TX was something straight out of a dream….well a dream where the wind is blowing a million miles per hour and there are chainsaws chopping up trees all around. Looking at her portraits, you would have never guessed that, somehow, we ended up photographing this duo on one of the windiest days ever. Literally, I think there was some sort of record set that day for wind in Texas. Plus, we had some crazy freezes earlier in the year, and the day of our portrait session just happend to be the day the cleanup crews showed up to cut down all of the broken branches…but that didn’t stop us from pulling off the most gorgeous session!

Truly, the light was stunning, and we worked with the wind and created some stunning portraits of Chloe and Oscar. I am so thankful Chloe trusted me and was patient through the process, as dealing with wind can be a little frustrating at times, but with a bit of patience, the wind can help us create some epic portraits.

Chloe’s passion for horseback riding started around six years ago. No matter what obstacles came at Chloe, she always found her way back to horses. The thrill of jumping over obstacles and feeling the wind in her hair as she gallops across the arena is something that is truly irresistible. Riding is not just a sport to Chloe, it’s a way of life.

Chloe, met Oscar while attending a show in Tryon over a year ago. She had been searching for the perfect horse for some time, but none of the horses ever felt right. However, it wasn’t until she rode Oscar that she knew Oscar was the perfect horse for her. As she rode him, she felt an immediate connection and was able to jump 3ft for the first time with ease. It was clear that Oscar was the perfect fit for Chloe, and she has been happily owning him ever since.

Chloe has many special memories with Oscar, but her favorite one is undoubtedly the day he came home to her. As her first horse, Oscar holds a special place in her heart, and she had been dreaming of owning a horse like him since she was in fourth grade. When she finally brought him home, it was like a dream come true. She remembers feeling overwhelmed with excitement and emotion as she introduced Oscar to his new home and spent time getting to know him. For Chloe, that day represents the beginning of a new chapter in her life, one where she finally had her own “unicorn” to love and care for. It’s a memory she will cherish forever.
