Contento, or Conto, is an 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding. Content is ridden by Addison Huffman, who trains at Claddagh Manor with Selina Petronelli—Addison’s cousin and lifelong horse guide.
Jet black with a unique patch on his stomach, Contento is a one-of-a-kind horse with a personality to match. At first glance, his focused, work-oriented demeanor may come off as aloof—he takes time to warm up to new people. But with Addison? He’s a total softie. Loyal, affectionate, and full of quiet charm, Contento never fails to brighten her day.

“He’s one of the sweetest horses I’ve ever known,” Addison says. “He always knows how to make me feel better.”
One of Addison’s favorite memories with Contento came during the USEF/Dover Medal this year—a huge milestone in their journey. “It was the most challenging thing I’ve ever asked him to do,” she shares. “And he was perfect every step of the way.” Regardless of the results, Addison was overwhelmed with gratitude. “I knew going into the ring that I was riding a horse who had my back 100%. That kind of trust means everything.”

Their story began when Selina found Contento through a friend in the industry—someone who had even helped with a previous horse. From the first ride, Addison knew: this was the one. “The confidence he gave me at such a young age was unmatched,” she recalls. But what truly sealed the deal? His love for Ritz crackers, freeze pops, doughnuts, and—adorably—playing with her jacket zippers. Contento isn’t just talented under saddle, he’s also Addison’s best friend on the ground.
Addison was born into horses—literally riding before she could walk. Her grandmother owns Claddagh Manor, and with her cousin Selina as her trainer, horses have always been a central part of her life. “My favorite thing about owning horses is that no matter what kind of day I’ve had, everything else goes quiet when I’m with them,” she says. “They make every second enjoyable.”
