Cloverfield Queen of Hearts, affectionately known as Queenie, is a beautiful 13-year-old KWPN mare ridden by Erin McGrady-Lawrence of Katalyst Sport Horses.
One of Erin’s favorite memories with Queenie happened early on in their partnership. During their first summer together, the pair spent long days at the barn getting to know each other, finding their rhythm, and building a bond rooted in patience and trust. Those quiet moments, both in and out of the ring, are the ones that made their partnership so strong.
Erin has been riding for as long as she can remember. Horses have always been a part of her life, and her love for them has only grown over the years. Her favorite thing about owning horses? The connection, the lessons, and the way they constantly bring joy—both in the big wins and in the simple, everyday moments.
Karinda K. is a Houston, TX based equine photographer that travels around the United States photographing equestrians and their horses. Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. With the help of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show family, Karinda has raised over $30,000 for Candlelighter’s Houston since starting this project.
