Meet Chewie, the 8-year-old Black Lab Mix who is owned by John and Kristin. This senior pooch has a black coat with white markings throughout his coat, including his paw, and a white chest. Chewie lives in Cypress, TX with his four-legged sibling Hershey who you will also read about in our book!

Chewie has been with John his whole life, as he adopted him from a rescue when he was a puppy. Chewie is not allowed on furniture and he is very respectful of that rule. “However, he used to get a pass on it when John’s dad, Henry, would visit and let him up on the couch to snuggle with him, usually without John knowing. Chewie would always know when Henry wasn’t feeling well and he would stick close to him. He still misses him to this day.” says Kristin.

Chewie is very smart and extremely laid back…but is also very protective of his house and his people. He loves walks and chasing small furry animals but he hates bikes or scooters. You will know if Chewie likes you or not, and if he does, when he greets you he will come up behind you and walk through your legs so you can pet his head.

Chewie’s treat of choice is a McDonald’s cheeseburger plain!
