Sam, Celleiko, is a beautiful 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding with a big heart and even bigger personality. Sam is ridden by Allison Rice, who trains with Kris Di Carlo at Kris Di Carlo Equestrian.
One of Allison’s favorite memories with Sam was showing in the Junior Hunters at WEC last winter. “I had just started doing the 3’3″,” she says, “and the class was going at sunset. It was such a good experience to jump good rounds at a new height during such a spooky time of day.” That magical moment marked a big step in their journey together.
Allison first found Sam while searching for a horse to do the 3’3″ medals with. She began leasing him, and after a year of building a strong partnership, she officially made him hers. Their bond has only grown stronger since.
His favorite treat? Sam is a total sweet tooth—donuts are his favorite!
Allison has been working hard toward her riding goals, growing in both the hunters and equitation rings. She’s proud of the partnership she’s built with Sam and loves learning more from him every day as they take on new challenges together.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica.
