Simba is a 25-year-old Grade Gaited Gelding. He lives with his owner Mary at her place in Paris, KY.

Simba has always been in Mary Beth’s life. There from day one. “During my crazy teenage years, he was always there for me, ready to catch my tears and make life a little better. His mother was the horse I learned to ride on. She was a cranky old mare who was perfect for a kid to ride on since she just plodded along and followed the leader. When I was a baby my grandfather bred her and another mare he had so that my brother and I would have our own horse one day. I of course being a toddler that was obsessed with the lion king named them Simba and Nala. Nala was originally supposed to be mine but I decided Simba was a better fit, I just get along better with geldings. He’s the best horse in the world. He’s been the greatest gift a girl could ever ask for. He’s my heart horse.”

Mary Beth explains that Simba always likes to be upfront and center. “He’s who I always put people who have never ridden on. He is my old faithful.” Mary Beth claims. Simba has taken Mary Beth into and out of some pretty tough spots and can trust him to always get her back to the trailer safely, even when she’s not sure which way the trailer is. When Simba gets sweaty and itchy he likes to rub his head on your back, which Mary Beth loves!
