This may be one of those portraits that I will remember for an eternity! We pulled off getting a single portrait with all five of Morgan’s horses at her home in Bastrop,TX. Morgan’s girls on her left, are her babies, but she also adores her other three paint ponies, and knew that she wanted to try to pull off the ultimate portrait with all of them. I knew this spot in the driveway would be perfect, and seriously, her house is adorable and made the perfect backdrop.

Morgan loves to trail ride and practice groundwork with her mares. Cheval is passionately sweet. She loves learning new things and galloping as fast as she can with me. “I love trying new things with her and just flat out enjoy riding her”.

Chassin’ Dreams, Cheval, is a 13-year-old Tennessee Walker Mare. Cheval lives at the barn owned by Morgan E. Nutt in Bastrop, TX, with 3.5-year-old Tennessee Walker Mare, Sieva. “I found her online, in Weatherford, TX. She hadn’t been ridden when I bought her, so I am proud to take credit for what she does now and what she now knows.” Sieva on the other hand has a bigger, sassier personality! She is very curious and wants to touch everything! She is a very fast learner. Morgan mentions, “Sieva has been a joy to teach groundwork to.”

We also did a Black Horse Black Background session with Morgan’s horses Cheval and Sieva. People are always asking about photographing black horses with black background portraits, so I wanted to dedicate a little post just to this very topic with Morgan’s girls here.
