I photographed Maddie & Quantos at Great Southwest Equestrian Center during the Fall Show Series. I seriously fell in love with Quantos, he is adorable and also, let’s talk about Maddie’s show jacket, it is beautiful! I am a tiny bit obsessed with it. Maddie rides with Monarch Stables in Austin,TX.

Quantos is a Belgium Warmblood, and although he hasn’t been a part of Maddie’s family for long, he has already left his mark as the silliest horse around. He struggles with standing still, so he will stand in the cross ties shaking his head and flipping his lips around to entertain everyone around. “The first week I had him, I turned my back to clean my bridle and I kept hearing this weird loud noise. I finally turn around to see him smiling and playing with his lips.” He loves to go on trail rides, and one of Maddie’s favorite things to do while at Great Southwest Equestrian Center showing, is to go walking around the show grounds to look at everything. I have to admit, even though Maddie describes him as such a busy body, you would never know based on how great of a model he is!

Although the pair hasn’t been together for long, they took second place in their second show together at the Katy Monster Mash in the High Children’s Class. They have also won numerous other classes together. I know this pair will go far, if they are already doing this great together and they are just starting their partnership.

“My favorite thing about showing at GSW is probably the show grounds. I love the large arena’s outside and the little trail rides we can take. It is hard for me to pick one favorite memory at GSW but I think if I had to chose I would probably say that my favorite memory was competing in my first Mini Prix. I have dreams of competing in Grand Prix’s one day with Quantos and that was a huge step forward for me.”
