CEDAR CREEK KALAHARI | 11-YEAR-OLD MORGAN GELDING | BIXBY OKLAHOMA

Meet Kal, the 11-year-old Morgan Gelding known in the show ring as Cedar Creek Kalahari. With his striking dark bay coat, a star, and one white sock, Kal is a standout at Justindeavor Stables in Oklahoma, where he trains under Shaughnessy Morris.

Ahni Neel, who owns and rides Kal, shares her favorite memory: buying Kal at nationals and getting to know his sweet personality. “We found him at nationals, and Ahni has only owned him for about six months. She got to try him at Nationals and came down the rail with the biggest smile,” shares Ashleigh Neel, Ahni’s mother.

Kal has a unique personality and loves to engage with his surroundings. His favorite treat is Gushers, which he eagerly enjoys. Ahni, who is 12 years old, has been riding since she was five and showing since she was eight. Her passion for horses shines through her interactions with Kal.

“My favorite thing about owning horses is getting to know their personalities and showing them,” says Ahni. The bond she has formed with Kal is incredibly special, and their journey together has been filled with joy and memorable moments.

Ahni and Kal are looking forward to many more successful shows and cherished memories together at Justindeavor Stables.

Portraits for Charity was an idea Karinda dreamt up to help give back to families impacted by Childhood Cancer in memory of her husband’s sister Jessica. With the help of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show family, Karinda has raised over $30,000 for Candlelighter’s Houston since starting this project.
