OOPSIE DAISY | 16 YEAR-OLD HOLSTEINER | MAGNOLIA, TX

Daisy, Oopsie Daisy, is a Holsteiner Mare. She trains at PJP Farm in Magnolia, TX. Daisy is leased by Julia Sand.

Daisy, the bay horse with a charming small star on her head and adorable little socks, exudes a distinct personality that sets her apart. She possesses an undeniable sassiness, radiating confidence and self-assuredness wherever she goes. Daisy’s spirited nature is evident in her interactions, as she approaches each situation with the expectation of getting her way. Her expressive eyes and playful demeanor make it difficult to resist her demands, and she effortlessly commands attention wherever she trots. Daisy’s unique blend of elegance and self-assurance truly makes her a one-of-a-kind companion.

Julia, the lessee of Daisy, recalls their fateful encounter with warmth and gratitude. About 5-6 months ago, when Julia first attempted to ride Daisy, it was a bumpy start. Julia found herself struggling to find her balance, but Daisy, in her own remarkable way, came to the rescue. Despite Julia’s initial challenges, Daisy displayed an unwavering determination and an undeniable passion for jumping. It was as if they were destined to meet. As time went on, Julia discovered that not only did Daisy have a powerful love for jumping, but their personalities also meshed harmoniously.

Daisy has a particular fondness for treats that tickle her taste buds in unique ways. While she adores the sweet crunch of juicy apples, there’s another treat that never fails to bring out her playful side: Sour Patch kids. It may seem unconventional, but the tangy, zesty flavors of these funny treats bring infectious joy to Daisy’s equine world. With a mischievous glint in her eye, she eagerly munches on the sweet and sour candies, savoring the burst of flavors that tickle her tongue.

Julia’s lifelong journey with horse riding began through her mother’s influence, who had been riding since her own childhood. Initially, Julia didn’t share the same enthusiasm, but everything changed when they found the perfect pony when she was seven years old. Their bond grew stronger over time, and to this day, they remain proud owners of their beloved pony. What Julia truly loves about owning horses is the unconditional acceptance they offer. Horses don’t judge based on appearance, wealth, or personality traits. They simply appreciate being loved and possess an uncanny ability to sense when their humans need support. Through her experiences, Julia has discovered a deep connection built on mutual understanding and unwavering affection.

One of Julia’s fondest memories with Daisy takes her back to the early days of their partnership. It was just about a week after bringing Daisy home, and the new surroundings had her brimming with excitement. Daisy would spend hours on end fixated on the Polo field, her eyes captivated by the graceful polo ponies. There was an undeniable allure to the way they moved, and Daisy seemed mesmerized by their presence. In her own spirited manner, Daisy would attempt to canter down the field, almost as if she yearned to emulate the elegance of those ponies. This charming display of admiration and determination left an indelible mark on Julia’s heart, as she witnessed Daisy’s enthusiasm and dreams unfold in the vastness of the Polo field.
