POCO RANCHO CINDY | 12 YEAR OLD QUARTER HORSE MARE | LOUISVILLE,KY

Cindy, Poco Rancho Cindy, is a 12 year old Quarter Horse mare. She is a ranch bred horse that currently lives at Red Horse Training.

Cindy is owned by Catherine, and Cindy loves every minute of having a little girl to love on her and groom her. I think it is safe to say that this little palomino is spoiled rotten. Catherine does barrels and poles with Cindy. Catherine has ridden and trained Cindy herself, and this pair gets along perfectly. They are currently training with Caitlin Halliwell, Miss Rodeo Kentucky 2018, of Red Horse Training in Louisville,KY.

They found Cindy through a friend, she had not been ridden for almost 5 years, and was turned out with cows. The first time she met Cindy, she ran right up to her. Catherine rubbed her down and checked her all over for problems all by herself, and once she decided to buy Cindy, Catherine even handled negotiating the price and setting up payments. The pair has now been together for 9 months. Catherine is just 10 years old, so handling all of the details of purchasing her first horse was quite the accomplishment.

They have already placed in several barrel races, as well as placing 2nd place in the 4H State Fair Horse Show.

“My favorite thing about owning horses is how much fun it is to go to shows and have a community of just horse people. I like that when someone is in need all the people will band together to support that person. I also like having a project and seeing what I can accomplish with that horse.”

“My most proud moment of Cindy is buying her and bringing her home. She is the first horse I ever bought on my own, so she will always be special to me for that reason.”
